Why Personal Branding Is SO IMPORTANT

Speaker 1:

Just describe to us what is personal branding, and why is it important?

Speaker 2:

Yeah. Great way to start this off. So if you think about personal branding, it’s a phrase that gets thrown around a lot, but the way I think about it, and the way I urge you to think about it, if you’re in this symposium today with us, if you will, is to think about it as your reputation, right, and your reputation precedes you. It’s what you are. It’s something we develop rather fast. It’s something we don’t always have awareness into. The way our colleagues think about us, the way our superiors think about us, the way our clients think about us. So this is essentially the buzz, like what’s the word on the street about who you are and what you bring to the table?

Speaker 2:

And so we all have a personal brand. This is not something we get to choose. Now, thought leadership, and we can talk about this a little bit, is something a little bit different, but we all have a personal brand. We all have reputations. We are all known as certain individuals or for certain strengths. And part of what I hope we can uncover in today’s discussion, and that I can share with you, is how to be more proactive as you cultivate that, and to really be able to be more of a guiding force when it comes to your personal brand.
